'Stain on the Sunset' is the second solo piano release from Richard Hinsley following on from his first outing' A Dance at Twilight' recorded locally in Nottingham.The album takes the listener on a musical journey of differing styles and tempo, with the emphasis like the first album being on variety. Further concerts are planned for 2019 as the music is showcased at different venues around the country.

Stain on the Sunset - The Album

The follow up to my first collection of solo piano pieces recorded in 2014 entitled "A Dance At Twilight". A slightly deeper more introspective set of pieces based loosely on the environment as a theme, but attempting to maintain variety of style and tempo as in my first studio outing. The ten pieces were recorded during July/August of 2016 on a Bluthner Grand Piano at Clement Piano’s Recording Studios in Nottingham with recording engineer Mick Wilson. The album is to be my first release on the classical label MMC Recordings scheduled for June 2017.

A Dance at Twilight - The Album

My debut album recorded at Clement Piano’s recording studios in the summer of 2014, intended originally as an audition CD for submission to Whisperings Solo Piano Radio in the US but subsequently made available as a digital release. There are also audio CDs available which can be purchased either at concerts or alternatively through enquiries via the website or Facebook.

Richard Hinsley Solo Piano

As a solo pianist and guitarist with local ensemble 'Cool Jazz', Richard combines a working life with promoting his original brand of contemporary/classical piano music giving regular recitals around the country. His varied musical background includes church music as a youngster singing in the local choir and piano lessons from the age of seven. His continuing musical education saw a period of organ study at a local church before beginning to compose his own music during student days and as a performer playing in groups of varying styles on the pub and club circuit.

Biography

I come from Nottingham and developed an interest in music from an early age, beginning formal piano lessons at the age of seven and joining the local church choir. I studied the organ for a couple of years as a teenager and began to compose solo piano music during my student days at what is now Oxford Brookes University.
